Sourced predominately from the renowned Napa Valley, this Chardonnay showcases the charm and essence of this region. A small portion of the fruit hails from Sonoma County, adding further complexity, resulting in a beautiful, intriguing, well balanced wine.
After being picked in the early morning hours, grapes were brought into the winery for processing. After undergoing 60% native yeast fermentation (82% fermented in French oak barrels), 50% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation, rounding out the palate and adding a delicious, creamy note. The wine was then aged in French and American oak barrels (30% new) for 9 months
“The 2019 Taken Chardonnay boast a beautiful nose of spice, citrus and lemon blossom. On the palate, Asian pear, grapefruit and Gravenstein apple are rounded out with hints of butterscotch and walnut. The mouthfeel is juicy, though not too heavy, with an uplifting, refreshing, crisp finish. Bright Napa Valley acidity is balanced out with creaminess coming from a splash of Sonoma fruit.”
